Batman: Arkham Origins Gets Another Patch
Yeah, I finally got around to playing that. I’d heard a lot of bad comparatively, vs. I’m happy to report that the game very much IS good and fun to play and worth the 5 Euro I paid for it. I’m not happy to report, however, that most of the bad stuff I’d heard turned out to be true, along with a whole bunch of stuff nobody commented on. In the end, I have to conclude that Arkham City was better in nearly every way, so if you own that you really don’t need Arkham Origins.
What this also means, crucially, is that there’s no point in reviewing Arkham Origins on its own when I already reviewed Arkham City.
As such, I’m going to focus on how Arkham Origins differs from Arkham City, The problem is that these are never, EVER shown on your map. For the first time in Arkham history, Origins features a multiplayer option. Hell, I’ve always complained about Space Marine’s UI and matchmaking, but at least.
With E3 coming very soon, there is, as always, intense speculation regarding exactly what games will be announced or revealed. However, whether the launches of these games will go smoothly is completely another matter. Game crashes, terrible netcode and, possibly most irritatingly, server crashes in which players would lose all progress made during the match. They did later acknowledge the issues related to multiplayer and matchmaking that players were experiencing and said that no further expansions would be released until these issues were fixed.
Similarly to the above entry, the game received stellar reviews from critics but yet it is the multiplayer where the problems happened to surface. It was impossible for many players to play at all, and although this was fixed for some players, these problems and other bugs persisted even after Industries promised to patch them out. They did eventually offer Halo 3: ODST as a free download for people who played the game since launch, along with some other goodies.
Despite this, and the apology, the player base was significantly harmed and some bugs were never fixed, ruining the launch of a collection of some of the most beloved games of all time. However, the next game immediately hit controversy after creative director Alex Amancio excused having no playable female characters by explaining they would be too much work to animate. Despite this, the game was still riding high on the success of its predecessor and certainly aimed to reach its height, however, somewhere along the line something was majorly amiss.
Batman: Arkham Origins is a damn fine game. It’s a shame WB tries to bury it.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One was the final straw, the game that broke my heart, and confirmed as an extremely disappointing year in video games. Halo was the series I fell in love with way back when the Xbox Classic came out. I fully expected the same high quality game that Industries, the studio now in charge of all things Halo for Microsoft, delivered with Halo 4.
But was I and every other sucker that bought this game so wrong. What we got on release day was a beta, no other way to describe it. Halo: MCC was released on November 11, Matchmaking was completely broken.
Batman: Arkham Origins: Review
When a multiplayer game is successful, it tends to be incredibly successful. There are many reasons why a cooperative or competitive multiplayer experience might fly under the radar, but the one thing that the most underappreciated multiplayer games have in common is the passion they inspire among those who actually had the chance to experience them.
Ad — content continues below. Origins is just a solid entry into an otherwise exceptional franchise. Besides, this is the only game that has ever come close to justifying the idea of competitive Batman multiplayer.
I saw this bug yesterday in matchmaking. After that my PS3 was frozen. Not just this bug seeing a lot in recent times like ‘don’t see player.

It’s Weekend 1 for Batman: Arkham Origins and already we’ve managed to collect enough gamebreaking bugs or just hard sections to warrant another piece on them. Good luck! This is one of the big ones that I’ve found people running into, so it comes first. In the GCPD tunnels in the telecom room south to the sewer areas full of explosives , if you go hunting for Enigma datapacks on the lower floor, you will find that the large elevator goes back to the upper level, leaving you stuck.
Go back through the sewers, there is an exit to street level via a ladder, it isn’t marked on the map, I was stuck there myself after taking the lift down ran around, wanted to go back up and the lift was gone. Others have reported being able to find this ladder and being able to get out of this area this way. A lot of people are also having issues with getting stuck in a loading screen when trying to Fast Travel typically back to the Batcave.
This has been reported for both Steam and Origin versions of the game. Mentioned in this video at about this timestamp, you will notice that after completing Anarky’s section of the quest, the main quest does not update. One console player in New Zealand, Jordy reported finding himself alone in lobbies that no one else would join. Turns out matchmaking is just really bad at the moment, so they fixed this issue by “searching over and over again till I got a lobby with at least 4 other people.
This has been an issue reported by multiple players in various areas of the game, where Batman just keeps floating away off in a random direction that never ends. Several people have been unable to aim the Batarang at the lights on the bridge in the Mad Hatter area. This is not a bug , but requires a bit of tricky positioning and getting Batman looking in the right direction.
